Difference between Chemoreceptors and Electroreceptors

In this article we will discuss about the major difference between Electroreceptors and chemoreceptors:

Difference between Chemoreceptors and Electroreceptors:

CHEMORECEPTORS:

1) Chemoreceptors  is aspecialised sensory receptor which transduces (responds to) a chemical subsatance (endogenous or induced) and generates a biological signal.

2) A chemoreceptors detect toxic or hazardous chemicals in the internal or the external environment of the human body.

ELECTRORECEPTORS:

 1)  Electroreceptors are the sensory cells which can detect changes the electric field of the surroundings.

  2) Electroreceptors used in Electrolocation (detecting object) and for electro communication.
